Why am I seeing odd sources in my reports?

You're seeing strange "Source" landings in your reports from sources such as:

• web
• hp

This is due to a setting in your site:

• You are a customer before 2009 who has enabled Legacy Tracking

To be clear, in the old version of ConversionRuler, we used the term "source=" in URLs to identify where traffic came from. With this setting on, ConversionRuler recognizes this in the referring URL on your site, and thinks you intended to specify the source.

• Why should I use the new tracking parameters in my URLs?

To eliminate the erroneous traffic, disable this feature in your Site Settings by unchecking the box, and clicking Update Site.

Note you should update ALL inbound links to use the new landing syntax first.
