Determining factors

  1. Your tracking needs
  2. Your site's traffic levels and your budget
  3. Your need to understand Organic

Tracking scenarios

In some cases getting the more spares ConversionRuler Sourced traffic reports makes sense:

  • Targeted campaigns for a high traffic site where you solely want selected traffic sourced by your sources to be tracked
  • Cases where organic traffic is not important
  • High volume sites which have low to zero organic traffic and largely paid traffic

Traffic levels

For sites with less than 10,000 unique visitors per month, go with ConversionRuler Organic - you will get better insights into your organic sources.

For sites with greater traffic, the value of organic tracking in your sales funnels can better help you make a decision.

Need to understand organic traffic

In most cases you can run ConversionRuler Sourced which records actions of unsourced visitors (but not landings).

After a period of time you can look at the comparison of sourced and unsourced actions within your site to determine if understanding the Organic traffic makes sense.

That is, if you receive 200 sales per month and 20 are Sourced and 180 are Organic, then it makes sense to examine Organic traffic patterns if many of those Organic sales are relevant.
