An iframe is an HTML element which is used to host content typically from a different domain within the web page of another domain.

Many online services provide this type of interface to add functionality to your web site without having to invest in creating and operating an application or set up infrastructure.

An iframe provides a security issue with tracking as it introduces content from another domain which is often managed and controlled by another company or entity.

They also present a unique challenge with tracking as getting access to content within an iframe is not often permitted without special configurations.
