Microsoft Edge was introduced by Microsoft in 2017 on mobile platforms iOS and Android and later ported to work on all desktops in 2020 and replaced Internet Explorer as the default browser promoted by Microsoft.

Edge used a similar core technology as other Category:Chromium-baed Browsers and was more compatible and standards compliant than former versions of Microsoft's browsers.

Currently, Microsoft Edge browser is the second most widely used browser in the world, second only to Google Chrome.
