A Time Zone is a region on Earth, more or less bounded by lines of longitude that has a uniform, legally mandated standard time, usually referred to as the local time.
Time Zones become important in marketing because the data you are viewing may differ depending on the region in which you live.
For international businesses, or web businesses, time zone can become important to determine buying patterns based on time of day around the globe.
Similarly, when comparing analytics data between vendors, it is important to know that Google Adwords data typically is exported in Pacific Time (GMT +8:00).
