Acronym. Secure Shell.
Secure Shell (SSH; also referred to as SSH protocol) is a software package that enables secure system administration and file transfers over insecure networks. The SSH protocol uses encryption to secure the connection between a client and a server. The SSH protocol is a method for secure remote login from one computer to another. It uses public-key cryptography to authenticate the remote computer and allow it to authenticate the user, if necessary.
